Anthem AVM 60 Home Theater A/V processor Leaked: Does Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X home theater audio formats will take center stage in this new Anthem processor.
Anthem, the audio component side of Paradigm speakers, let leak an exciting bit of news on its Facebook page this week. The very popular Anthem AVM 50 audio/video processor is getting a big brother, the AVM 60. It’s being shown at the Munich High End audio show.
It’s been several years since the AVM 50 was released, and it received an upgrade in 2012 to be 3D video compatible, but the new Anthem AVM 60 will now get the product line totally up-to-date with the latest home theater standards.

The new Anthem AVM 60 includes 3D audio home theater processing formats Dolby Atmos and DTS:X (Auro 3D wasn’t mentioned). The system includes Anthem Room Correction using the home’s wireless network. It will support the upcoming 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format (and HDCP 2.2), plus wireless multiroom DTS Play-Fi music streaming.
The audio/video home theater processor includes 7 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs, 11.2 balanced speaker outputs, a toroidal transformer and an RS-232 port for a control systems.
This will be Anthem’s first Dolby Atmos or DTS:X 3D audio home theater product. We can probably expect Atmos and DTS updates to other Anthem audio product lines, including the company’s D2 processor and Anthem integrated home theater receivers. Will an 11-channel amplifier also be forthcoming?
There’s no word on what it will cost, but the current AVM 50v goes for $6,499. Anthem says more details will be released at this year’s CEDIA Expo in September.
If you can’t wait that long, here are some great Dolby Atmos home theater receivers you can buy now. |
