The Electrocompaniet ECI 5 MK II is a DC coupled high performance, fully balanced, remote controlled integrated stereo amplifier – rated at 2 x 120 Watts.
This amplifier replaces the ECI 4 / ECI 5 that was originally introduced in 2000. In this MK II version Electrocompaniet has been using our newest technology to enhance the details and dynamics – in many ways this is a brand new amplifier.
More about the technology in the new ECI 5 MK II
The new ECI-5 MK II has a more powerful output stage compared to the existing ECI-5. Twice the number of output devices have been utilised to improved bass control and stability when driving heavy loads.
To improve the current, bank of reservoir capacitors is increased to 80 000 micro farad which is fed by a powerful 500Va transformer. With these power resources the ECI-5 becomes capable of reproducing the most dynamic recordings.
ECI-5 MK II also has a new and improved overload detection system that allows us to remove the output relay. Hence the output stage is connected directly to the speaker with no relay controls in the signal path deteriorates over time.
All input switching is handled by high-end analogue switches with virtually no distortion and a life time of trouble free operation.
The input stage is built from discrete circuits running in class A with no feedback. The output stage runs with moderate amounts of negative feedback, carefully balanced between good bass extension and control, a detailed open midrange and a warm detailed top.
A new and larger display improves readability from your listening position - the display can be dimmed.
The ECI-5 MK II has the following outputs: Balanced, single and REC. Balanced motorized volume control that does not degrade the sonic qualities of the unit. The balanced output of the ECI 5 can feed an additional power amplifier in a bi-amped set-up
